EquiCap Commercial Welcomes Industry Leader Alex Erbs to the Team

Anne Blackwll, Jesse Luke and Scott Rihm, Partners at EquiCap Commercial are pleased to announce Alex Erbs has joined the firm as Director, bringing more than 10 years of self storage operations, management, and transaction expertise to the firm’s growing team.

Alex began his self storage career in 2014 in a blend of operations and business development roles. In 2016, he co-founded Gateway Storage, acquiring five facilities in the St. Louis area and implementing a hub-and-spoke hybrid management model. Drawing on his expertise with smaller, secondary market facilities, he founded Erbs Management Group in 2020 to provide operational support to owners across the region. In 2022, Erbs Management Group merged with The Storage Mall, combining extensive ownership, management, acquisition, and development expertise to become a leader in third-party management.

Based in St. Louis, Alex serves clients in Missouri, Southern Illinois, Kansas, and Northwest Arkansas, where he leverages his unique owner-operator perspective to guide clients through the complexities of self storage acquisitions and dispositions.
